The Phoenix metro area ranks as one of the U.S. cities with most residents from the seven Muslim-majority countries in President Donald Trump’s immigration and refugee restriction order.
Phoenix has 17,300 residents from one of the seven countries in the controversial Trump order, according to the Brookings Institution.
The executive order temporarily restricts immigration, refugees and entry into the U.S. from Syria, Iraq, Somalia, Iran, Libya, Yemen and Sudan.
Los Angeles and Southern California as a whole has the most residents from the seven countries. That includes the most Iranians — 136,000. There are 160,800 banned country residents in L.A.
Detroit is second followed by New York and San Diego.
